5 Amazing Steak Butter Topper Recipes
If you want to jazz up a steak quickly try adding a flavoured butter. Once you have made the butter you can keep it refrigerated or frozen for the next time you are having a steak. o use once you have cooked the first side of your steak and turned it add the butter to the top of the steak when there is only about 1 minute of cooking left.
Here are some great recipes for flavoured butter.
GARLIC AND ROSEMARY – serves 4
- Beat 70g butter until light and creamy.
- Add 2 cloves of crushed garlic, ½ tablespoon finely chopped rosemary, ½ tablespoon lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. Beat until combined.
- Cover and refrigerate.
This would also be delicious inside a lamb rump. Using a sharp knife cut a pocket into the lamb rump. Push the butter into the lamb rump and either grill/pan fry or roast.
MUSTARD – serves 4
- Beat 70g butter until light and creamy.
- Add 1 – 1 ½ tablespoons french or wholegrain mustard, ½ teaspoon juice, ½ tablespoon chopped chives. Beat until combined.
- Using plastic wrap, form into a log shape and refrigerate until firm.
CHILLI AND CORIANDER – serves 4
- Beat 70g butter until light and creamy.
- Add ½ small finely chopped red chilli, ½ tablespoon chopped fresh coriander, 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Beat until smooth.
- Using plastic wrap, form into a log shape and refrigerate until firm.
FRESH HERB – serves 4
- Beat 70g butter until light and creamy.
- Add ½ tablespoon each chopped fresh parsley, chives and tarragon, ½ teaspoon lemon rind, salt and pepper. Beat until smooth.
- Using plastic wrap, form into a log shape and refrigerate until firm.

- To a bowl add 1 cup butter, softened, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon garlic salt, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon ground paprika. Mix until smooth.
